The tutorial is very big and moves in increments building your skills and confidence as you go. Btw when I say map like sumo I don't especially mean map like a legend, because on many counts I stink at mapping and I totally reek at scripting, but with determination and a basically a copy paste mentality I can produce some popular works. I want all you guys to be able to do the same .......... Good Luck.
I assume you have Mohradient and have set it up for mapping. If not go to .map and read up on how to do it and download the tools. Now how is your mohaa set up. I hope you have hard drive space because of what I am about to suggest. Firstly you will have used your mohaa cd's (spearhead and or breakthrough) to set up the game. Now a mapper doesn't want to be popping cd's in and out of his drives all the time so I suggest you grab a no-cd crack from somewhere and crack the exe (be sure to back it up for when you go online and when you patch your game) then copy the mohaa folder (this is a fresh install right no mod's or pk3's, totally clean we want) to another part of your drive like C:\MOHAA so now you will have two of mohaa, one here C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA and one here C:\MOHAA. Now what we want to do is unpack mohaa in C:\MOHAA and do all our mapping modding in there while our other mohaa in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA remains totally clean, why? Because this is where we will be testing our current project (projects less the better). As a mapper you want to be free of blame, when some gamers complain to you, that your map doesn't work, or it lags badly, you can tell him "sorry son I know my map works error free why don't you clean out your mohaa and give it another try" you know there is no files missing and the level has no console errors, you can be confident about that if you follow my directions. In my early days I released some booboo's and I can assure you its quite regrettable.
Now to unpack mohaa we will want to use Pakscape (its in the map like sumo download) go to your mapping mohaa (for me its C:\MOHAA) and open each of the pk3's and unpack them all into mohaa or drag loop around the contents into mohaa, (that's the way I like to do it).
Now after that, its quite time consuming, copy paste into your mapping mohaa (remembering we have 2 Mohaa's now one to map in and one clean one) the contents of the our 3 tutorial maps unpacked folder. Also you need the fancy ai pck3's unpacked into your mapping mohaa. A side note looking at the above picture whenever you drag and drop like that from a zip or pk3 always drag into the open space and not into another pack or folder, I nearly always extract zips to my desktop first so I can have a look at them and then I drag and drop into the place they have to go, I fell more in control this way because you can see what's going on. You will notice in the map like sumo folder there is a little file called editscrrightclickthing.reg one of my brainy friends made it for me, double click on it and run it, now with all your .scr files you will be able to right click on them and select open in notepad, very handy for the scripting you are going to do.
Also you will find a copy of MohaaTools (remember to copy the entdefs.pk3 into the mapping mohaa) and mbuilder, mbuilder is for compiling your maps.
